In light of the numerous significant court rulings regarding employment-related retaliation and the fact that retaliation is now the most frequently alleged basis of discrimination, on January 21, 2016, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued a Proposed Enforcement Guidance on Retaliation and Related Issues, updating the last guidance published in 1998.
